Welcome to IGOpeople, the real world network where you can connect with individuals, groups and organisations.
Thanks for signing up. We want you to get the most out of IGOpeople so here are some suggestions to get you started.
1. Build Your Network
Your IGOpeople network is made up of friends, groups and organisations. Find and add your friends using the I directory or invite them to join. Groups are in the G directory and you can join a group listed or create a new one. If you’re in a group already why not use it to help you manage and stay in touch with members? Organisations are in the O directory and by adding the organisations you do business with you can talk directly to them, get customer support and be the first to hear about offers. If you stop doing business with an organisation you can simply remove them from your network.
2. Join in the conversation
Every time you login to IGOpeople, under “My Updates” you will see what people in your network are talking about and you can join in and tell them what you think. You can also search for conversations by keyword or location or click on the “All Updates” tab to find out what people all over the world are talking about right now. You can join in private conversations in your network or public conversations with anyone else in IGOpeople, it’s up to you.
3. Start a Conversation
As well as joining in you can start a conversation as well, either with your friends, your group, an organisation or the whole IGOpeople network. People start conversations to find recommendations, get something off their chest or share news with other people. You might want to talk about X Factor or the Champions League or the ECB interest rate or a million other things, that’s what IGOpeople is for and no topic is too big or too small.
There are lots of things to do on IGOpeople with new stuff being added all the time. We're always interested to hear from users, so when you get a chance why not let me know what you think by replying to this post?
I hope you enjoy using the IGOpeople network.

Build your Network
I would like to import a group of business e-mail address (flat files/csv*)from my online E-mail account. How do I do it? I have literally hundreds perhaps a thousand and do not want to write them in ...one at a time Thanks PAt
I can download all my G-mail address as comma separated values and then how do I import them into IGO people?
*A flat file is a plain text (or mixed text and binary) file which usually contains one record per line[1] or 'physical' record (example on disc or tape). Within such a record, the single fields can be separated by delimiters, e.g. commas, or have a fixed length. In the latter case, padding may be needed to achieve this length. Extra formatting may be needed to avoid delimiter collision. There are no structural relationships between the records.
Typical examples of flat files are /etc/passwd and /etc/group on Unix-like operating systems. Another example of a flat file is a name-and-address list with the fields Name, Address, and Phone Number.

Patrick,
We have a few new features planned for the launch on Wednesday, one of which is import your gmail contacts. I'm not sure of when we plan csv or flat file import, but I'll check. While we are still small, we'd be happy to upload the csv file for you.
